Pedal in Loughborough

8th October 2015 - 9th October 2015 Happening in Central England

Joining forces to ride twice around the world.

Lloyds Bank colleagues from Loughborough joined forces with 1,200 colleagues across the country to raise £300,000 for BBC Children in Need, their chosen Charity of the Year Partnership. Colleagues cycled the equivalent of more than twice around the world in just twenty-four hours as part of the bank’s “Pedal for Pudsey” fundraising initiatives. From 11.00am on Thursday 08 October to 10.59am on Friday 09 October six Loughborough team members pedalled on static bikes continuously for 24 hours, collectively contributing to:
  • 200 teams
  • 1200 participants
  • 120 locations
  • 1.8 million calories burned
  • Over 61,000 miles pedalled
  • £300,000 fundraising target

The Loughborough branch pedalled for 406 miles and have raised £1850 so far thanks to donations from family, friends, customers and members of the public.

Matthew Pinchen, Senior Bank Manager said: “Lloyds Loughborough colleagues have always been huge supporters of the bank’s Charity of the Year raising large amounts of money for good causes by taking on incredible challenges. We worked really hard as a team to ‘Pedal for Pudsey’ non-stop. Knowing that every penny raised will help make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children throughout the UK, through our partnership with BBC Children, helped keep us going."
