Speech Bubbles is a playful, nurturing intervention that supports young children referred with a communication need.

Adam Annand of London Bubble in London was awarded £4,000 in third place at the ceremony award of the Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2016.

Speech Bubbles is a playful, nurturing intervention that supports young children referred with a communication need. The project has robust evidence that it is a ‘highly effective and sustainable means of helping children with poor social, emotional and educational wellbeing and communication difficulties’ (Dr Barnes, 2015).

Speech Bubbles is a project from London Bubble, a company that makes theatre with its community. London Bubble brings people together to create, participate in and enjoy theatre. It aims to make work that explores, connects and celebrates people's stories, crafting projects that build social capital through both process and outcome. London Bubble’s theatre-making process is built on attention and care; it values people's stories, skills and presence.

Adam joined the Scale Up Programme to expand the company’s Speech Bubbles project through social franchising.
